These photos are from the in-house dressage competition clinic we held recently at Sea Horse Ranch. It was a fun and rewarding day for all the riders. They rode their test of choice. Barbi scored it, coached the riders on ways to improve their score, and then they rode it again. In each case they made significant improvement in the quality of the ride.
In a dressage competition clinic, usually one horse and rider perform the movements of their specific test in front of the judge. They receive marks for the quality of each movement performed. In this competition, the rider gets coaching on their weak areas after their first go and then performs the test a second time with the chance of improving their performance. It offers a non threatening opportunity to learn, grow, and attain greater effectiveness and success. As you can see from the photos it was a beautiful and fun day!
